how much you matter
that even though you’re just
one of millions
inhabiting the planet
you make the sun shine
so much brighter
i wish i could show you
the enormity of my feelings
that the days before
weren’t quite as full
until there was you
sometimes i’m not quite whole
i can’t see the good
because tears blur my vision
i lash out with fear
but you hold me anyway
your resilience
your strength
they all inspire me
to grow and become better
each day
