oh man, when was the last time i posted on my blog? weeks ago, i imagine. september has definitely been a month for the books – a lot of things happened, and my life was a mess for a while. but i’m glad to say that as the month reaches its close, i have found my bearings again, and my footing is restored.
i mentioned a few weeks back that my dear line sister, eunice, took me out to get my nails done. i honestly loved the color and how they turned out. i wanted to show them off, so here’s a little snippet with one of my favorite paintings.
in the middle of the month, i went to participate in my second 5k. my company sponsors this one each year, and i pushed myself and did it again. this year was much much easier than the year before, and i’m proud of my time – fourty-one minutes! i’m hoping to get an even better time next year.
last week i met up with an old friend for lunch. it was good catching up with him. i was really craving something sweet, and when i saw they had a cute bear-shaped chocolate dessert, i had to try it! it was really delicious, and so adorable!
speaking of catching up with old friends, i had a wonderful video chat session with two of my best friends! we all live in different states, so getting together is very difficult. we usually just stay caught up by chatting in our group chat on facebook, but every once in a while the timing is just right and we can have some face to face quality time.
finally, this past weekend my best friend leta got me out of the house, and we went on a wonderful walk and visited a little festival at the nearby community center.
on the walk, we enjoyed playing a little pokemon go, which i just picked up again. there was a chikorita event, so i caught so many that day! i forgot how fun the app was, and they’ve improved it a lot since i played two years ago.
the scenery on our walk so was just so beautiful. there was a little canal area, and assorted greenery. it was hard to juggle catching pokemon and taking pictures of everything.
little stone sculpture were scattered around the area, and we saw a little bit of everything. i couldn’t get over how charming it was.
the best part was probably this view of the lake when we finally got to the center. i couldn’t help but just stand there in awe for a while.
obviously i needed to get a cute photo with the fountain.
on the way to the festival, we stopped by the art gallery. it had nine resident artists, but two in particular really stuck out to me. i’m a big fan of bright colors, so these ones held such a charm for me.
the work space of these artists gave off a great aura. i felt struck by all beautiful pieces. i found out that they hold openings each month, so i’ll definitely be back.
i was so happy to spend time with leta. she really worked hard to pick me up out of my funk these past few weeks. everyone needs a best friend like this.
hopefully now that my life is back on track, i can get back to doing what i love most – taking pictures, writing, and sharing them on my blog with you. wishing you all the best this week ❤
